New York’s eight online sportsbooks took $384.8 million in wagers in the week ending Aug. 2 and generated $46.5 million in gross revenue.

Yahoo Sports reported that handle rose 8.7% from the previous week and was $45.8 million higher than the same period in 2025. Gross revenue jumped 66.7% from $27.9 million the week before, which had been one of the lowest weekly totals of the summer.

The recovery came with an 8.3% hold, a slight improvement from 7.9% in the week ending July 26. It was still well below the consecutive 14%-plus win rates seen in the closing stages of the World Cup in July.

Just one online operator posted a double-digit win rate in the prior week, but four did so in the week ending Aug. 2.

The Empire State closed July and opened August with its third straight week of handle below $400 million. That came with little on the sports calendar beyond MLB before the NFL preseason began Thursday.

FanDuel posted a 13.3% hold on $136.9 million in handle, producing $18.2 million in gross revenue, more than $7 million above the previous week. DraftKings followed with a 12.4% hold on $130.2 million and $16.2 million in revenue, nearly $9 million higher and almost double the prior period.

Fanatics’ rebound included a 12.6% hold on $43.4 million in handle and a 96% week-over-week increase in gross revenue. BetMGM’s hold slipped to 8.1% on $33.1 million, down from 11.6%, though its revenue was nearly steady.

Among the other books, Caesars turned a 9.9% hold on $24.8 million in wagers, BetRivers won back 12.8% on $8.3 million, Bally Bet reached 9.8% on $2.3 million and theScore Bet managed 3.2% on $5.7 million.
