New York’s eight online sportsbooks accepted $619.4 million in wagers in NFL Week 4, for the period ending Oct. 4. The total rose 8% from the prior week and 12.5% from the corresponding week in 2025, making it the state’s second week above $600 million in the opening four weeks of the season.
The handle ranked as New York’s fourth-largest weekly total on record, according to Covers, and the state reached the $600 million threshold earlier in the season than it had in 2025, when it did not do so until late October. As we reported after Week 3, wagering had slipped to $573.4 million while operator revenue rose to $48.6 million.
Gross revenue in Week 4 was $49.2 million, produced by a 7.9% statewide hold. It was New York’s highest gross-revenue week of the football season to that point and its largest since the World Cup ended in July. The result followed a stretch in which the market had not recorded a double-digit hold since mid-August.
FanDuel took $228.2 million in wagers, its second-highest handle of the season through Week 4, and retained $23.6 million in gross revenue, its best result in 11 weeks. FanDuel was the only operator to post a hold above 10%, and had taken at least $200 million in bets in each of the season’s first four weeks.
DraftKings generated $13.8 million in gross revenue on a 6.4% hold, down from $18.1 million the previous week. It had generated more than $200 million in handle three times in the preceding three weeks.
Fanatics took $70 million in wagers and held 7%, leaving revenue below $5 million in its best week since late August. Caesars accepted $44.6 million at a 4.9% hold, while BetMGM took $38.1 million at 7%. BetRivers posted $13.6 million in handle, theScore Bet $7.7 million and Bally Bet $3.2 million; their holds were 7.8%, 9.9% and 7.3%, respectively.
